While I agree that the secondary market is arguably part of the overall MD umbrella of discussable topics, it seems that the "elders" have gotten their heads stuck too far up their collective rectums and somehow decided that the secondary market is the ONLY worthy topic for MD to the exclusion of all others. Any newcomers asking here for help or guidance are in for some serious punishment if they dare ask the "wrong" question. The arrogance exhibited here is outright astounding and would make even the hard core thugs in C&P blush. Honestly, it takes a seriously depraved self-esteem to create an ivory tower elite in a VIDEO GAME!!!! Frack the "elders" and their self-important attitude. Good riddance. --------

Eve-search sucks. It has always sucked and will probably suck long after the "elders" have moved out of their parents' basements. And even if a question has already been asked and answered, the level of effort that the "elite" puts into abusing the poor noob who posed it always far exceeds the level of effort required to simply answer the question again or point the noob in the right direction. Let these self-important a-holes leave. Nobody will miss them. Nobody cares. EvE is bigger than even the most over-inflated internet ego. --------

Many of you call that "elitism". It is accurately called "having standards" and yall don't rate... so you do what you can to trash the forums to your level. A recent eBank post called this what it is: Forum Euthanasia. To finally become acceptable and achieve success, lower the goal posts to your level. I'd call you Jackals but that would be insulting Jackals. (And I'm sure one would report this thread for that.)

I can imagine what it would take for these types to decide that there is no longer any return value for their investment, here. Most of these veterans that are leaving are long term players/planners/thinkers and they have started to categorically rate this forum as a poor investment.
Reading this thread has only substantiated that thought in my mind. A few of your are worthy but then those who were always were before this thread.

A search engine is only as good as the information you feed it, Eve Search is fantastic and even keeps the uneditted version of the post, perfect for spotting scammer and the like.
If you find Evesearch Sucks, then maybe its you that sucks and you few post above only go further to confirm that theory, The "Elites" as you like to generalise them werenot gifted with the information that you fools feel they should share with any nublet that cannot understand the simplicity of a search engine, If a leet person knows it it is probably documented somewhere and if its not its information they are going to keep guarded for their own good and profitability.
Grow up and stop expecting your parents to hand hold you through everything (In this case the parents are the Elites.
You're right. I suck. My real parents are long dead. Perhaps my other parents - these arrogant elites can follow their example and go away. Maybe you should lead them.
And another thing regarding eve-search. It is an external site. Expecting noobs to use a search engine that is not part of the eve forums to find topics in the eve forums is absolutely ridiculous. I could understand if the eve-search site was actually a very effective search engine, but honestly, for the most part, eve-search makes Ask Jeeves look good. But then again. I suck. I don't really know what I'm doing or talking about. But my general suckiness and incompetence notwithstanding, I'm pretty sure these "elite parents" will not be missed by anyone but the most co-dependent of sycophants. --------

Casing point and thank you for being so honest, if a few more of the newer players would be as honest as you maybe MD regulars would go a bit easy on y'all.
ie "Hello Im new here I cannot be bothered reading stickies and I cannot use search engines, could someone pls point me to some information about how to trade"
would get a better reception than
"Tradz peoplez Plz tell me how to be uber rick, k thx"
Have a good day, and as you should know admission is the first step on the road to recovery.
Since we've clearly degraded to a ****ing match about each other's intelligence, what the hell does "casing point" mean? I'm new here and I can't be bothered to use search engines. Please elaborate. --------

A point that proves the case weve been discussing. See no hostility fantastic aint it.
With no hostility intended, you'd sound a lot more credible if you used the phrase "case in point" or its legalese equivalent "case on point." "Casing point" makes absolutely no sense. --------

Well obviously English aint my strong point but i'm sure I was close enough for people to understand with a tiny bit of thought but oh well thanks for the correction. Im just happy trade is based on Mathematics and Economics and not a grasp of the english language. Not sure what it has to do with credibility should I discredit anyone in future who makes a spelling punctuation or grammar mistake? I dont think so some how.
Trade may very well be based on Economics and Mathematics. But internet e-peen fluffing, which is clearly the area we're in right now, is most certainly based on rhetoric and language. And since you like to get oh so technical, let's get right to it. "Casing point" is not a spelling error. The word "casing" exists and you spelled it correctly. It is not a grammar error. It is a 'diction' error - an error in the thought process resulting in using the wrong word entirely as opposed to using the right word but misspelling it. Didn't your 'elite MD' parents teach you that in order to sound properly haughty and smug in MD, you must avoid 'diction' errors at all costs? --------

I agree with you, but there are times where examples need to be made and lines drawn in the sand. At this point the thread has devolved into nothing productive, and we have a single user to thank for it.
Woohoo! We're drawing "lines in the sand". Can we make sand castles, too?
By the way, I'm fairly certain that disagreeing with you and even saying that nobody cares what you think in direct response to you labeling me "lowered quality" is not a forum violation. In fact, your "reported" statement merely shows how absolutely deluded you are about your own self-importance, suggesting that you actually are wearing "we, the elites" blinders. Hmm... come to think of it, that gives me a business idea. --------

Bravo, explain why your here then your elitist english skills would be more suitable as a public speaker for a corp or alliance. Getting anal over SPG errors is elitist, I'm not stroking my epeen either just pointing out that you are the exact reason people have become bored with this section of the forum. Alot of people come here for help and do nothing but get the back up of the people they are requesting help from and then start ranting like 5 year olds because noone will help them. Think what you will of my Language skills but your a bit off the mark if you seriously believe a simple error in language on a Game forum is worthy of discrediting someone, you do realise the best Language writer have the book, articals etc proof read numerous times because noone is perfect. Get a grip on reality, you dont add any valid point to this thread you've manage to degrade the whole thread to something meaningless, even though various people have pointed out your blatent ignorance.
I don't get anal over spelling errors. I get anal over diction errors. Nothing chaps my elite butt like some windbag spewing off self-important pseudo-eloquence and making a diction error. Grrr! It ruins my day just like noobs asking you the best ways to effortlessly make quick ISK ruins yours. Anyway, congratulations! You have finally deduced the conclusion I was hoping to lead you to. You've figured it out. I could not possibly have degraded this thread into something meaningless because this thread was meaningless from the very start. As I 've said before, EvE is larger than any single e-peen, and thus nobody will care why the elites are leaving and where they are going. --------

If you want a closed forum where you can all lick each other's virtual *******s, be my guest. Go ahead and make one. I in no way worship the man, I respect the hell out of him though.
Why? Because he knows his stuff and had NO problem with imparting that to anyone that asked.
If you want to know who he is and why you should care. Look him up. I'm sure you've done well without anyone but yourself, good for you. This is a community though and with all communities there will be people that are more knowledgable and more helpful then most members of that group. Hexxx was one of those people. Don't worry though if it would help your ego some, had you done the same things I would be using your name here. But I do have to say that after reading your post, I'm doubting that will happen.
That's the whole point. MD is not a community. MD is a a "clique." And this clique is vehemently resistant to outsiders and their contributions and questions. That's what needs to change. --------

I've taken no offense at all, just my usual blunt speech. The thing I don't understand is why do you need to challenge someone else's respect in another person? Especially regarding people that are leaving? Mind you I think that action by you is the most foolish thing of all. On par with the blind leading the blind. That is the only thing that boggles my mind... what are you getting out of all this investment you've typed here? If it is trolling, then you've over invested and I think when the interest payment comes due ... ... If it is some other well intentioned thing then perhaps you need to leave the thread alone for 24 hours and come back to it. Fresh so to speak. That's my advice for you and it's free. Any more will cost you.
The answer to your question is simple. I am an agitator. I like to stir the pot. I like to look BS in the face and call it "BS. And frankly, this controversy over the MD elite leaving the forums or the game is utter BS. --------

Instead, certain posts did establish a very haughty and naive us vs them kind of mentality (see posts by hostility Incarnate, as a key example), and those posts were by people who presume they fall in the "elite" category (whatever that means).
Thus the oppositional mindset that you are seeing now is underwritten by some people presuming that they are better than others in such a way that there is one clearly "elite" group, and one that is "inferior" (insulting to jackals, etc).
Since then, those who mock and resist such haughtiness have speculated on particular names of who is deluded to think of themselves this way (this is the indirect effect). Are you, perhaps, considering taking a closer look? Or are you just posting for posting's sake?
I took a very close look and I agree 100%. I think that some people have, by virtue of their attitude, created a very polarized atmosphere in the MD forum. And some others have become unintended victims of this polarization and thus the targets of the riff-raff rebellion - i.e. the specifically named individuals in the OP's post. I'm going to go get bent now. --------
